Batman: Shadow of the Bat #7: The Misfits, Part I is issue seven of the Batman: Shadow of the Bat comic book series.
Chancer, a costumed criminal from Texas, arrives in Gotham City. He steals money from an armored truck and comes into conflict with Batman. Just when Batman is getting the upper hand, a mysterious figure known as Nimrod stops him because he wants to catch Chancer himself. Nimrod faces Batman as Chancer jumps off a building to escape. Nimrod apparently vanishes as well, but Batman cannot find Chancer's body on the ground. As it turns out, before Chancer could hit the ground, he saved by the Catman. He asks Chancer for his help in something. They both go to Wayne Foundation building. Catman needs Chancer to watch the security guards while Catman walks over a rope and plants an explosive on the phone lines. After the job was done, Chancer attempts to leave but Catman offers him a job. He says that he and two other criminals have something big planned. Meanwhile, Nimrod returns to his apartment and looks at a picture of his girlfriend, promising her that he will catch Chancer one day. Meanwhile, Calendar Man is across town planting a device on a charity gala that is set to open the following day with the Mayor Armand Krol and Commissioner James Gordon. Calendar Man returns to the hideout where Chancer and Catman are waiting. Killer Moth arrives, and considers killing Chancer. Catman stops him, and instead Killer Moth offers Chancer an opportunity to join the group of so-called Misfits and promises Chancer can have a share of ten million dollars. As morning rises Killer Moth explains the plan to Chancer: A triple kidnapping that involving Commissioner James Gordon, Mayor Krol and millionaire Bruce Wayne.....
