I Am Gotham, Part One[]
Synopsis[]
As a Gotham Air flight makes its decent into the city, Batman is called by Gordon to discuss a resent raid on Fort Marshall. The Commissioner informs him that the culprits stole three air-to-surface missiles, two of which have been recovered in a raid on a Kobra cell. As they discuss the matter, the third is used to attack the flight, destroying its engines.
Instantly noticing the attack, Batman contacts Alfred and Duke to help mimize casulties and coordinate the flight. Catching up using the Batmobile, Batman uses its ejector seat to fly up to the plane. Informing Gordon his plans, Batman removes his seat's jet engines and attaches them to the wings. Batman then grapples up the tail and has Alfred activate the engines, using the attached cables to steer the plane clear of the various buildings.
Though he's mimized damage, Batman is forced to remain on the plane to ensure the passengers survive. Knowing he'll certainly die, he asks Alfred to send messages to the various family members, including for Dick to take over Duke's training. After he says goodbye to Alfred, Batman and the plane are lifted out of their trajectory by two figures. After they set it in the bay safely, they introduce themselves to Batman as Gotham and Gotham Girl: the city's new superheroes.
