Daedalus Boch was an artist who believes he receives visions of inspiration and then compulsively recreates them on whatever canvas they indicate, including people.

History

Doodlebug is first seen in Arkham Asylum: Living Hell part one. Upon his release, he paints a massive mural on a town landmark stating "Gone 2 Arkham, Back After Lunch.". He did this to mock the fact that nobody in Arkham is ever cured, but still released like clockwork. Afterwards he bribes a security guard, "Wrigley," to let him out of his cell using a self-portrait that would be worth a lot of money on eBay. The guard escorts him to the joint cell of "Pamela Isley" and "Margaret Pye" (Poison Ivy and Magpie respectively), where it is revealed that after he was arrested, he'd stolen a mirror shank from serial killer Jane Doe. He declines to do anything violent with it however, instead opting to trade the "shiny object" to Magpie in return for sex, which seems to be a standard deal with her. He is then escorted back to his cell by Jane Doe (who has killed Wrigley and assumed his identity), though he remains oblivious to her true identity. When they arrive, she leaves the door slightly ajar on purpose. He escapes, painting the walls of the asylum in blood. He dies in the series' finale after completing the summoning of the skarvas' demon master.

Powers and Abilities

No superhuman abilities, but a skilled painter, who uses blood as his paint.

Trivia

Boch's appearance and artistic style are reminiscent of the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Whether this was intentional or not is unknown. His name may also be a reference to painter Hieronymus Bosch.
