Hans Zimmer (b. September 12, 1957) is a Academy Award, Grammy, and Golden Globe award-winning film score composer and record producer from Germany. Zimmer composed the score for Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight along with James Newton Howard. He composed the score for The Dark Knight Rises alone. Prior to composing the scores to the latest Batman films, Zimmer had performed on the synthesizer incorporated in Shirley Walker's score to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. In total, he has won over 30 awards for his music.

Other works include Inception, The Lion King, Kung Fu Panda, Gladiator, and the upcoming 2013 film Man of Steel.
