Len Wein was an American comics writer. His most notable contributions to the Batman mythos include villains like the Preston Payne version of Clayface and Sterling Silversmith. Wien was also one of the co-creators of Amanda Waller and the original version of Lucius Fox. In an interview with Wizard magazine, Alan Moore mentioned that Wein was responsible for approving Barbara Gordon to be shot and crippled by the Joker in Batman: The Killing Joke.[1]

Wein also wrote for Batman: The Animated Series, penning the episodes "Off Balance", "Moon of the Wolf" and "Blind as a Bat". He also co-wrote "The Demon's Quest: Part II" with Dennis O'Neil.
