Mark Hamill voiced The Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The New Batman Adventures, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Birds of Prey, Justice League, Robot Chicken, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight, Scarface in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Tony Zucco in The Batman, and The Spectre in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

He is most famous for portraying Luke Skywalker of the Star Wars saga.

• • Mark's voice-over career began doing vocal work for The New Scooby-Doo movies. He also was doing voice-work for Ralph Bakshi's 1977 animated picture Wizards, which also dealt with similar space-opera science-fiction fantasy and supernatural themes. Since the pivotal role of Luke Skywalker seemed to have pigeonholed him completely in front of the camera, he stayed behind the microphone and garnered a rather impressive career as a voice-over actor. With his enormously popular interpretation of The Joker on "Batman: The Animated Series", he became in extremely high-demand for vocalizing over-the-top villains. He remarks this is the main reason he is doing so well financially.
    • Mark Hamill, having voiced of The Joker in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, announced via his own Twitter account that he was going to retire from the role of the Joker. In fact, Arkham City's ending was fitting enough to retire his Joker on a high note. This wasn't the first time Hamill said goodbye to the Clown Prince of Crime. After the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Hamill revealed, regarding his role as the Joker, that: "This will be my last, there's no question about that. But it's the last hurrah." Some months later, with the announcement of Batman: Arkham City, he clarified the rumors about him retiring from the role by saying, via his Twitter account: "Only said Arkham Asylum would be hard to top, not that I was quitting." For his allegedly final performance as "The Joker", he recieved the BAFTA for Best Voice-Over Performance. He did not appear at the ceremony in the U.K. to collect it.
• On October 19, 2011, shortly after the release of Arkham City, Mark Hamill again announced his retirement on his Twitter account: "Hello/Goodbye Joker! I've enjoyed every minute behind the wheel of the Clown Prince’s crazy car — I'm going to miss him more than I can say!!" But on October 28, Hamill wrote "Just thought I would clarify that my Joker comments are not related to Arkham City", implying he might return as the character. Hamill has since denied his statements of retiring the character, stating that he was somehow "misquoted". Later, on June 2012, WB Games released the expansion pack titled "The Last Laugh" for the MMORPG DC Universe Online, featuring Mark Hamill's official return as The Joker. On June 13, 2012, Hamill answered to a tweet sent by LucBruno88 saying that he doesn't exclude the possibility of returning as the Joker in another Arkham game: "Never say never." Unfortunately, LucBruno88's account has been deactivated and the entire conversation cannot be read from Hamill's official Twitter page.
• As of the 2011 Comic-con, Mark Hamill made comments on voicing the character in any adaption of Batman: The Killing Joke. Though initially considering to do a "book on tape", Hamill said that if there would ever be an animated version of The Killing Joke, he would gladly voice the Joker again. Hamill encouraged fans to campaign for said adaptation, most notably in a tweet made on October 24, 2011. Since then, a Facebook page titled "Petition to get Mark Hamill to play the Joker in animated Killing Joke" has been set up by his fans.
• On December 8, 2014 HitFix releases a press announcement that Mark Hamill would reprise his role as The Trickster a member of The Flash's rouge gallery on The CW's new hit series The Flash in episode 17 Tricksters on March 31st 2015. Hamill originally played the role in the short lived CBS tv series of The Flash in (1990–1991) two episodes and subsequently voiced the character in an episode of Justice League Unlimited (TV Series) entitled "Flash and Substance".
• On July 27th it was officially confirmed that Mark Hamill will be voicing The Joker in the upcoming animated film adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke.
