With the help of Alan Grant again, he drew Batman for six years (from 1987 to 1993), pencilled Detective Comics from 1987 to 1990, introduced the new Robin from 1990 to 1992, and started a new Batman comic-book series called "Batman: Shadow Of The Bat" in 1992. He also did a few one-shots, two of which being Batman: Holy Terror and Batman: Birth Of The Demon, which he hand-painted.
