Red Claw was a villain created for Batman: The Animated Series.
Red Claw's true identity and past are unknown. Apparently hailing from Eastern Europe, she is the founder of an international terrorist organization. Both she and her operatives bear a red claw tattoo on their bodies, usually on the shoulder. Other than issuing threats and ransom demands against powerful countries, the Red Claw organization's agenda is unknown.
Red Claw first came to Gotham City shortly after Batman's first encounter with Catwoman. She and her agents stole a deadly plague virus as it was being transported via train. Prior to this encounter, Red Claw's gender was unknown to global law enforcement. When a wealthy businessman stealing land from local wildlife proved to be a Red Claw agent, Catwoman became involved in the conflict. Batman and Catwoman were forced to put aside their differences to stop Red Claw from releasing the plague and killing millions. Though they succeeded, Red Claw herself managed to escape.
Red Claw later resurfaced and kidnapped Frederick, a former agent of the British government. Seeking the activation codes for a dormant missile system, she discovered that she would need Frederick's former partner as well -- Alfred Pennyworth. This led Alfred's employer, the Batman, to England and into another conflict with the terrorist. Batman and Robin battled Red Claw and her minions at their castle headquarters but were unable to prevent the missiles from being launched towards London.
Pursuing and destroying the weapons with the Batwing, Batman was taken by surprise by Red Claw, who had stowed away. Red Claw managed to pull the hero's cowl from his face but was ejected from the jet before she could get a glimpse at his face. Parachuting into the ocean, she escaped capture once again. Her subsequent activities are unknown.
