The Misfits was a small criminal-syndicate created by Killer Moth which consisted of minor Gotham City super-criminals.

New Earth[]
The Misfits are a syndicate of super-criminals in Gotham City assembled by Killer Moth. Feeling envious towards larger criminals such as the Joker while being a black-sheep on the criminal-underworld, Killer Moth made the team to include other foes of lesser renown. The original incarnation of the team included Catman and Calendar Man before they recruited Texan criminal, Chancer.
The Misfits broke into a Wayne Foundation AIDS charity benefit to kidnap Bruce Wayne, Commissioner Gordon and Mayor Armand Krol. The plan was to ransom off the three for 10 million dollars within a 5 hour window. However, the Misfits were confronted by the joined forces of Robin, Ace the Bat-Hound, and Chancer's vigilante enemy Nimrod, meanwhile Bruce Wayne lead the hostages against their captors.
Prime Earth[]
Killer Moth established a gang, similar to the Misfits in Prime Earth continuity. This group consisted of Ratcatcher, Victor Zsasz, Solomon Grundy, and Moth's frequent accomplice Firefly with the intent of being mercenaries hired to fight Gotham's growing vigilante population for the mob. The group was taken down from the inside when it was revealed Grundy was actually the shapeshifting Clayface in disguise as the zombie, working alongside Batman.
