Victor Zsasz was a homicidal killer among Carmine Falcone's Thugs who killed people for the mob as his profession.
Early Life Edit
Born into a family of prominent businessmen in Gotham City, Victor Zsasz directed his life to amassing a large personal fortune in addition to his family's wealth. This all changed by putting him into a deep depression when his parents died in a boating accident at a young age, so he tried supporting himself through gambling, which instead lost him all his inherited fortune in every competition. Therefore, Zsasz saw his life as empty while growing up on the city streets, and was driven by desire of making a living in violence, bullying and terror, which many suggested was part of a seemingly unimpaired sense of morality. As a result, he turned to Gotham's organized crime, seeing it as a family he might fit in with when he found a father figure with in it's head mafia boss, Carmine Falcone. To earn Falcone's approval, Zsasz proved himself as an expert assassin among the crime lord's thugs and became one of Gotham's most wanted mob serial killers for each homicidal action he took.
Dr. Jonathan Crane testified in court that Victor Zsasz, one of Falcone's assassins, was legally insane and should be moved to Arkham Asylum for rehabilitation. Zsasz would later be released from Arkham; during Ra's al Ghul and Scarecrow's reign of terror, he almost attacked Rachel and is revealed he remained still at large on one of the promotional websites for The Dark Knight.
- The version of Zsasz in the film is the only one to have a goatee and brown hair, as in the comics he has blonde hair and no goatee.
- If you look closely when Zsasz turns his head after being released from his cell, he has the trademark tally scars on his neck.
- In the film, Zsasz has no dialogue, and does not appear to be insane, but in the films tie in videogame, he has several lines which indicate that he is. In the game he is also voiced by Tim Booth.
